Wangrah Wilderness Lodge is located at 1017 Bluff River Road, Sandy Flat via Tenterfield; just off the New England Highway.

Travel logistics to/from Wangrah Wilderness Lodge

Armidale, Ballina, Lismore, Brisbane or the Gold Coast are the major hubs for Domestic and/or International flights and offer good options for overnighting if necessary. Rental Car hire is available at each of these airports.

Depending on which direction you take, the New England Highway is an easy drive with plenty of attractions and opportunities to stop along the way.

Approaching from the North

Follow the New England Highway from Warwick (QLD), heading SOUTH towards Tenterfield. Once you hit the town of Tenterfield keep driving South on the New England Highway towards Deepwater and Glen Innes for (approx.15-20 mins). Keep a look out for the BLUE Wangrah Wilderness Lodge sign then turn RIGHT at Bluff River Road.

Head down Bluff River Road (approx. 15km) until you reach the WANGRAH Wilderness Lodge gate. Head through the gate and keep driving towards to the Lodge and Reception buildings approx. 5 mins from the gate and you are here!

Approaching from the South

Follow the New England Highway from Glen Innes (NSW) heading NORTH towards Deepwater. Once you have hit the town of Deepwater, keep driving North along the New England Highway towards Bolivia until you see the BLUE Wangrah Wilderness Lodge sign (approx. 15-20 mins from Deepwater) and turn LEFT onto Bluff River Road.

Head down Bluff River Road (approx. 15km) until you reach the WANGRAH Wilderness Lodge gate. Head through the gate and keep driving towards to the Lodge and Reception buildings (approx. 5 mins) from the gate and you are here!

N.B. Due to intermittent mobile reception in the area, we would suggest you give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination during daylight hours.
